Lex was born in Brooklyn on October 8, 1952. He majored in Communications
and recieved a B.S. from St. John's University. Upon his graduation he was
employed by a Video Production company in NYC, where he produced and
directed commercials, and music videos. After living and working in midtown
Manhattan for 12 years, he moved to a remote area of the Catskill Mountains
to pursue his art. Self taught, his need for creative expression led him
on an educational journey through photography, videography, computer
graphics, drawing, painting, sculpting, casting, construction, collage
making, etc..

Often considered controversial, his painting depicting a black Santa Clause in front of a graffitti strewn wall was excluded from exhibition at The
Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts for its strong political statement. |
